It has been a few days since I have written. I'm having a dilemma. My youngest son is 16 and a sophmore in high school. He plays travel hockey and was having a hard time between getting school work done and not missing the required numbers of days off per semester. We decided to try the "home schooling" route. He is attending a program called Faith Academy. He does attend a math class and other than that he picks up his packet of materials and work for the week. He also has to attend for mid-terms and finals. All the work is done at home. So far so good. The only issue is math. They also provide a math tutorial on-line but he is just not getting it and I'm no math wiz.
I'm trying to decide if we have made the best decision. It is early in the semester so we will see. I find as a mom without a guide book it is sometimes difficult to know, in these important times of preperation for college, it what we are doing is the right decision. I guess we will just have to see how it goes.
